Cardin Chellan
Dr. Cardin Chellan grew up in Durban, South Africa and his family moved to the United States when he was 6 years old. His Dad is a minister and they moved to the U.S. to pursue starting a church. They first moved to Kansas, then later settled down in Texas.
After originally beginning school to become a Dentist, he started experiencing severe migraines. His parents had a Chiropractor that they used to go to so Dr. C paid him a visit, and within 2 visits, he never had a headache again! This amazed him and he found out there was a chiropractic school in Dallas, so he transferred everything over and started Chiropractic School!
Dr. Cardin is married to his beautiful wife Leandra and they have a precious son named Roman. The Chellan family owned and operated their own practice for over 5 years before Roman was born, but decided to close their practice to focus on their family and pursue joining the Illumin8 team! Dr. Cardin has a passion for posture correction, holistic healing, and ensuring you can live your best life for as long as possible!
Shelby Loughridge
Dr. Shelby started Illumin8 Chiropractic with the intention to become a space of hope, healing, and holistic wellness for the individuals and families in our community. As a chiro kid herself, she was raised knowing that our bodies were designed to heal and thrive if given the ability to do so! She knew from a young age that she wanted to help others heal naturally and holistic chiropractic was her calling to do so.
After high school, she attended college at the University of Nebraska (Go Huskers!) where she received her Bachelor’s in Biochemistry. From there, she began her doctorate in chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas, where she then discovered a passion for serving pregnant moms and children! This led to her devotion to continued education through seminars, mission trips, and hands-on classes.
You can catch her around town with her chiropractor husband and daughter, drinking a chai latte, and walking our two pups on all the local trails.
It is an honor to bring true health and healing to the families in North Texas!
Dr. Shelby is Webster’s Certified (a gentle & safe technique and analysis recommended for pregnancy to allow optimal pelvic alignment and decreased uterine constraint) with additional training through the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) and holds an active membership.
